Office of Criminal Justice Reform

The Office for Criminal Justice Reform (OCJR) is the cross-departmental team that supports all criminal justice agencies in working together.

Martin Dawes Solution are the current Audio Visual intergrator for a Managed Video Service for the Office of Criminal Justice Reform

Two pilots have been set up, between Camberwell Green Magistrates' Court and 15 centres at police stations across London, and between Maidstone Magistrates' Court in Kent and the charging centre at Medway Police Station.

The scheme follows a test in July 2007 at Camberwell, which found that the time between charge and first hearing could be cut from an average of 10 days to about four hours. The Ministry of Justice (MoJ) believes virtual courts could save £10m annually, free police and court time and provide a better service to victims and witnesses.

Further more the contract  will also provide video conferencing to connect prisons and witnesses to courts remotely ( Prison Court Video Links). The system will also be used for video conferences linking probation officers and offenders (NOMS).
